Ryan Miller
While working on his MBA in Finance in 2004, Ryan joined Asset Management Group in Chico, a Northern California Investment Advisory Firm that manages over $700 Million in client assets. Eschewing an offer from a large company in San Francisco, Ryan chose to work in Chico, avoiding the corporate wire-house model of only selling products to customers. While in business school full time, he passed the series 7 and series 63 NASD licensing exams.
As an independent contractor, Ryan focuses his business as he chooses, at the same time offering his clients the vast resources of ING through Financial Network*. Ryan has been successful in attracting new clients by getting them to “buy in” to a process. Clients appreciate his perspective of taking into account their retirement and investment holdings, as well as real estate and tangible assets.
Under his supervision since 2005, Ryan has not only substantially grown the size of assets under his management, but at the same time increased the value of the underlying asset base substantially. In 2006, Ryan formed a team with a senior financial advisor to expand his business opportunities, and provide better service to his clients. While earning an MBA degree in Finance in 2006, Ryan helped double the team production. 2006 was a year where the team attracted and retained several high net worth clients and Ryan was integral in those transitions.
Committed to growing his business, Ryan mentored a junior financial consultant in 2006, and in 2007 assumed full responsibility for training that person and incorporating them into the team. While overseeing the day-to-day aspects of maintaining a self-employed business, Ryan continues to provide excellent value to existing clients, and evolve to meet their changing needs. Striving to keep current, Ryan educates himself by taking numerous Financial Service continuing education courses every year. Ryan is an alumnus of UC Davis and CSU Chico.
